The Mercedes SLS AMG has been around for a while and although it hasn’t yet been sold in massive numbers the tuning community are already working on it.

The 2010 Essen Motor Show is just the place for a tuner to show off something like this in style.

Since the tuner in question is Brabus and Mercedes is pretty much their specialty it’s no wonder this creation is very desirable.

Brabus had some fun with the new Mercedes SLS AMG and came up with the Widestar. In case you missed the hint within the name, Brabus created a wide body kit for the SLS AMG.

The new wide body kit of the Mercedes SLS AMG, is made entirely out of carbon fiber and it has undergone aerodynamic testing.

Other modifications Brabus did to the Mercedes SLS AMG include a new set of wheels, in this case, they’re darn right special. The wheels are Monoblock F Platinum Edition forged wheels which are ultra-light and measure 20 inches for the front and 21 for the rear.

The gorgeous wheels are wrapped around in Pirelli P-Zero tires to help with the cornering. Speaking of cornering, the Brabus Mercedes SLS AMG Widestar has a new suspension setup. This one is done in collaboration with Bilsteinride and features a lowered ride height by 30 mm and height-adjustment.

As far as the engine it’s concerned it remains almost unchanged but it is now lighter by 26 lbs and produces 10 more horsepower. Naturally, if you’re interested in this sort of thing, Brabus offer up custom upholstery done in fine leather and alcantara.
