In a rather regrettable incidence that has become an all too common occurrence, yet another shooting incident happened where a Tesla dealership was the target. The most recent episode was at Tigard, which happened last Thursday in the morning (March 6th) at 1.46 a.m. I feel that people are increasingly overemotional when discussing Tesla, as well as other businesses, with the company’s founder, Elon Musk.

The Incident in Detail
The Associated Press reported that a local thug unleashed a barrage of at least seven rounds of gunfire during the early morning hours, with the damage to seven windows or more and three Tesla cars. Even bullets pierced a wall and got as far as hitting a computer monitor. According to the Oregon Live, one was singled out, and the damage was in the tens of thousands of dollars. While it has been stated that local authorities cooperated with both the ATF and the FBI, the specifics of the connections are rather vague.

A Troubling Pattern
This comes in the backdrop of a similar occurrence at a Tesla store in Salem, Oregon. Early this year, 41 years old, Adam Matthew Lansky allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail to a dealership, which burned down a Model X. Within a week later, apparently on 17 March, Lansky went back to the very spot to fire several shots at the car, and some of the bullets even shattered windows. Lansky was arrested in the early part of this week and has been charged with federal crimes of possessing an unregistered destructive device.
Underlying Tensions
No known ascertainable reason for the latest attack has begun, although it cannot be argued that tension around Tesla and Elon Musk increases. Since that time and especially after Musk’s bizarre gesture and the termination of all government employees while being at the helm of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), instances have increased. This includes cases of shooting, protests, to cases of writing Nazi symbols. There is a situation where a supercharger station was even attacked, and many Tesla car owners claimed that they were frequently harassed, and in some cases their vehicles were vandalized.
The Emotional Toll on Owners
From what I have observed, I understand the anxiety that Tesla’s owners have been experiencing recently. Some people are afraid to be attacked in any way, in this case, whereas other people have been verbally abused or their property has been vandalized. When these may sound unreasonable to some, they point out animosity, which is on the rise.
Conclusion
It is rather worrisome to note that there have been cases of violence and vandalism at Tesla dealerships recently. I do hope that an adequate investigation from the FBI will reveal the reason why such people attack the employees and customers, and necessary measures should be taken to protect the potential victims, both the employees and customers. Thus, the community must unite against hatred and intimidation by such activities.
Final Thoughts
These are tough times, and it is only befitting that conversation is encouraged and embraced during such occurrences. The only way to cease any enmity of this nature in the future is to try to understand why there is animosity in the first place and ensure that there are no more such acts being perpetrated.
