Even if the gorgeous and outstanding Volkswagen CC has been put to sleep, don’t worry, as the legacy will continue with its official replacement, which is the new 2018 Volkswagen Arteon four-door coupe, which will sit just above the Passat.

By the way it looks and walks, the new Arteon will surely be no disappointment, the model coming with new styling features and the latest technology inside. It will stand on the carmaker`s new MQB, also underpinning other new models, and will measure 4,862 mm long.

It will also come with a longer wheelbase, now stopping at 2,841 mm, also being 1,871 mm wide and 1,427 mm tall. Tobias, Suhlmann, in charge with the exterior design of the Arteon, also comments on the car`s design:

“The athletic lines of the Arteon embody a highly functional overall concept. Form and function find common ground here in a progressive way. In contrast to classic saloons, the gran turismo offers more space and flexibility thanks to its long wheelbase, coupe-like fastback design and large rear hatch.”

The interior might be considered more high-end than the Passat`s, as it will include the latest high-quality materials, as well as a wide array of gadgetries and technologies – Active Info Display, new infotainment systems with 6.5- to 9.2-inch sizes – adding as well ambient lighting with a strip connecting the air vent to the door panels, ergonomic seat positioning at the back and much more.

As for the car`s engine family, this will debut with six petrol burners and diesels, ranging from the 1.5-liter TSI petrol with 148 horsepower, to a 2.0-liter TSI pot with 187 horsepower and 276 horsepower, respectively. Customers can also choose the top of the line 2.0-liter TDI with 236 horsepower. The engines will be hooked to a six-speed manual transmission as standard; the higher versions will also receive a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
