Back in the January 29, 1886, the Germans from Mercedes started writing history by presenting the first vehicle ever seen that time. After just 3 years since Carl Benz founded Benz & Co. Rheinische Gasmotoren-Fabrik, he revolutionized the automotive world by revealing the first car.
In February 1900, Mercedes introduced the 35HP model, a vehicle able to develop of course 35 horsepower but the biggest event remains however in 1886 when the Germans filed a patent application (number 37435) for their “gas engine-powered vehicle” with the Reich Patent Office in Berlin.
As you probably realized we talk about a gas-powered vehicle fitted with a single-cylinder 954 engine achieving a top speed of 16 km/h. At a first glance, the vehicle above seems to resemble with a chaise than a vehicle but believe it or not, this was the first step into the automotive industry, a very necessary step. Thus, with this ocassion we can say “Happy Birthday Mercedes, and thank you for inventing the first automobile in the world”.
