Officially, the Americans from GM managed to take the first place in the ecological segment with the Chevrolet Volt, the American hybrid sawing a 23% increase in January. Even Nissan Leaf is available in the US market since December last year, the Japanese manufacturer managed to sell just 87 units, a 14.8% increase indeed, but still not enough compared to the 321 vehicles sold by Chevrolet.

Even the American model now ranks first in this competition, Nissan Leaf has already extra 20,000 orders which wait to be delivered, a pretty large number indeed.

However, Chevrolet Volt can recover pretty fast mainly considering that the the American model uses a hybrid powertrain, thus, the model can be used just as a conventional engine without any headaches when the battery is discharging. The Chevrolet Volt got also a big advantage compared to Nissan Leaf as it can be purchased instantly, thus, you don’t have to wait for your Volt.
