You may not have taken into the diminutive size of the Chevrolet Spark so far. No matter what they said or advertised, didn’t really hit the mainstream audience.
The American company made some considerable effort with the newest generation of the compact, particularly its looks and economy, yet appeal is low.
What’s to do to boost the appeal of small cars these days? Well, the answer is obviously economy, but may not by the traditional way.
The upcoming automotive show in Los Angeles will be the host of the unveiling of what the folks at Chevrolet consider the solution.
It’s a new version of the Spark, one that looks remarkably similar to the current production version of the car, both inside or outside.
Where things do change is in the underpinnings. The new car is called the Chevrolet Spark EV which means it’s powered by electricity.
The engine is powered by electrons and the fuel tank was replaced by a battery pack which is “filled up” via a set of pathetic wires.
This Chevrolet Spark is remarkably powerful for its size and electrical situation as it is capable of developing 114 horsepower.
We’re not being told just what sort of range this vehicle would be capable of going and the fact that Chevrolet isn’t making too many of them doesn’t sound encouraging.
All they’re saying, so far, is that the Chevy Spark EV will be available in limited numbers in select markets (US included).
