The South Korean based carmaker Kia officially introduced the all-new 2018 Stinger model at the 2017 NAIAS, in Detroit, the model already being decided for the European markets in the fourth quarter of the year.
Even if the pricing details are yet to be unveiled, the carmaker has already introduced the car`s specifications concerning mechanics, interior gadgetries and the plethora of safety features.
Besides the new and more evolutionary design that makes it a genuine high-end model from Kia, the 2018 Stinger will feature a sport chassis and suspension system with Dynamic Stability Damping Control (DSDC) or variable ratio rack-mounted motor driven power steering system (R-MDPS).
Other advanced features also refer to updated Brembo braking system, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Driver Attention Alert (DAA), height-adjustable Head-Up Display (HUD), a choice of 7.0- and 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 15-speaker Harman-Kardon sound system and so on.
In the engine department, the 2018 Kia Stinger will be available in Europe with a 2.2-liter diesel, churning out 220 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, shortly followed by a 2.0-liter turbo flat-four “Theta” pot, with 225 horsepower and 353 Nm of torque.
Finally, the model will also receive a top of the line Lamba 6 unit, the same one found on Hyundai flagships, with 370 horsepower and 510 Nm of torque. This particular one will manage a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds, at a top speed of 270 km/h.
All engines will be available with an optional eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive setup, adding the Drive Mode Select, which allows the driver to switch between the driving modes available at his disposal. Prices will be known prior to the car`s arrival in Europe`s dealers.
