No? Well don’t feel ashamed, it hasn’t been made yet, but it will eventually come out of the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory.
As a recent announcement calls, Lamborghini will create this… Cabrera, as a replacement for their most successful model ever, the Gallardo.
The Gallardo is a very lovable car, and despite it being a “lesser” Lamborghini, it is going to be a very difficult act to follow.
If the new Lamborghini Aventador is any indication of what the Ranging Bull Italians can do, my best guess is that the Lamborghini Gallardo’s replacement will be quite a cracker.
In case you’re wondering what Cabrera means, I’m afraid it’s not exactly as impressive as it sounds because it means “goat herder” in Spanish and Catalan.
While almost all Lamborghini names had some relation to Spanish bulls, bull riders and so on, the former was one of those who dropped the ball.
Some claimed various excuses for the name, but nobody forgot the relation to a translation which meant bat.
The Lamborghini Cabrera sounds much better on that front since it’s a profession and not a flying rat.
Technical aspects of this Gallardo replacement say nothing about replacing the infamous 5.2 liter V10 engine, but we are told that Lamborghini may be force feeding it through a supercharger.
