The Italians from Ferrari decided to unveil the SP12 EC, a model commissioned by Eric Clapton, a famous musician you probably heard of.
According to the Italian company, the new SP12 EC is based on the current 458 Italia but benefits from several styling features from the Ferrari 512 BB produced in the 1970s.
Under the bonnet sits a powerful 4.5-liter V8 engine capable to deliver 570 horsepower and 540Nm of torque. With these resources, the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is possible in 3,4 seconds while the top speed exceeds 325 km/h.
“Meticulous attention in terms of style and technology was paid to the proportions and architecture of the SP12 EC – which is part of Ferrari’s One-Off Programme – making this exceptional car even more significant,” says Ferrari.
The new Ferrari SP12 EC has been designed by Pininfarina and Centro Stile Ferrari. Eric Clapton said that he owned no less than three Ferrari 512 BB models, this being the main reason the new SP12 EC is inspired by the 512 BB.
