Many have wondered how the long-expected Fiat 124 Spider would be looking like once it would be launched, but thanks to Jalopnik, we have the first pictures to confirm its existence.
As we can depict from the low-resolution pictures, the Spider will come with an evolutionary design and a unique styling. The entire body language reminds us of the original 1966 Fiat 124 Spider manufactured by Pininfarina.
We can also observe the details of the exterior which resemble those seen on the Mazda MX-5, the Fiat 124 Spider featuring longer overhangs at the front and rear, rounded headlights, dual-port grille, the Maserati-like taillights and a few more with that.
Inside, the Fiat 124 Spider will also come with some tweaks borrowed from the same Mazda MX-5, but sporting its own features which will make it apart from the MX-5 model.
Under the hood, chances are that we would see a base 1.4-liter turbo engine, with 180 horsepower and six-speed manual transmission, while the Abarth version entering production next year, would come with a higher 1.75-liter turbocharged, hooked to a DCT, which is also found on the Alfa Romeo 4C.
More details will be announced at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, this November, where the model will face its official unveiling, meanwhile, enjoy the first photos taken near Santa Barbara, California.
