It seems that the Fiat 500L is not performing very good in terms of sales as the Italian carmaker deided to halt production at the Serbian factory in Kragujevac.
The company started producing the Fiat 500L in July 2012 but the sales figures were not very convincing. According to the carmaker, the production halt is temporary and at its source is the European and global market situation.
Stopping production is certainly not a good option for the company as they invested about €1 billion in the facility.
The Fiat 500L or better-said the 500 Large, is somehow a secondary model in the range, the main one being the original 500 itself.
Therefore, they should have expected lower sales figures and prepare for them accordingly. In conclusion, we shouldn’t be worried to much about Fiat’s decision, mainly considering that it is a temporary one.
