The Italians at Fiat officially announced that 2012 was a very good year for the company on the Brazilian market.
To be more specific, Fiat recorded the best sales figures since their debut in Brazil which happened 36 years ago. Fiat managed to sell 838,219 units in 2012 which is an improvement of 11% comparing to the previous year.
The bestselling models for Fiat were the Uno and Strada vehicles, the first one summing 255,149 units and the second one 117,464 examples sold. Moreover, Fiat produced 12,5% more vehicles in Brazil in 2012 with a total of 759,000 cars.
“This year’s performance was attributable to the fact that we anticipated the market recovery and were ready to ramp up production at just the right moment to ensure we gained market position and share,” concludes the Italian company.
With this been said, Fiat expects even better results and sales figures for 2013, mainly considering that new models will be added to the lineup.
