The Italians at Fiat just got an important reason to celebrate as one of the most iconic models in the range, the 500, just hit the 1 million mark.
The one millionth Fiat 500 benefits from a Funk White exterior finish, a 1.2-liter 69-horsepower engine and is the Lounge version.
The Fiat 500 is currently offered as a Coupe and Convertible model but the company already confirmed a long-wheelbase variant which will be known as the 500L to go on sale in 2013.
“A genuine expression of style and character, the Fiat 500 is an all-Italian invention created to satisfy everyone who loves to have fun and go anywhere behind the wheel of an exciting and charming car,” says the car maker.
The current Fiat 500 entered production in 2007 in Poland but due to high demand, mainly in the United States, Fiat was forced to produce the new model in Toluca, Mexico from 2011.
The Italian company says that the 500 is the leader in its class in the United States with sales increased by 109%.
