We got some very interesting details about Fiat’s 500 range which follows to be extended with at least two new variants which will get the L designation. According to the rumors, L stands for large, two new models bearing the 500L badge being currently under development.
To be more precise, we talk about a wagon version of the Fiat 500, a model which could be offered in a five-seat and seven-seat configuration. Therefore, the tiny Italian model will get slightly bigger being based on Fiat Punto’s platform. The Fiat 500L will be a five-door model with a length of 4,1 meters and a higher roof for increased space.
Under the bonnet, the Italian company might offer a 0,9-liter two-cylinder unit offering 85 horsepower, a more powerful 1.4-liter gasoline unit with two power outputs of 77hp and 105hp but also a 1.3-liter diesel engine also available in 75 and 95 horsepower configuration.
Expect to see the new Fiat 500L in world premiere at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show which opens its gates in March. Around 100,000 units will be built in the first year of production at the Serbian plant in Kragujevac.
