Fiat released today photos and details on the new Viaggio sedan, a model based on the Dodge Dart which is scheduled to debut at the Beijing Auto Show.
Compared to its overseas brother, the new Viaggio has increased dimensions with 4,679mm (length) and 1,850mm (width).
According to Fiat, the new Viaggio will be built at the GAC-Fiat World Class Manufacturing facility in partnership with Guangzhou Automobile Group.
Under the bonnet we will find a 1.4-liter T-Jet petrol engine in two power versions: 120hp and 150hp. Both units come together with a five-speed manual transmission but an optional DDTC (Dual Dry Clutch Transmission) is available as well.
“The new four-door, five- passenger Fiat Viaggio is based on the CUSW (Compact US Wide) architecture – the most advanced within the Fiat Group – which is also the basis of the new Dodge Dart,” says the Italian car maker.
If you already are interested in getting one, you should know that the new Viaggio will enter production this summer with the first deliveries in China scheduled for the third quarter of 2012.
