Fisker isn’t exactly a company that’s enormous, full of money and which has a model lineup which includes hundreds of models but this isn’t putting a hamper on their plans.
The luxury American car maker will be unveiling a new model at the upcoming 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and it presents quite the interesting situation.
Called the Fisker Surf, it’s not going to be the earlier rumored crossover but something more stylish, a shooting brake.
Don’t expect anything revolutionary though, Fisker may have been busy contracting BMW for engine supply deals but they’re not exactly swimming in cash at the moment.
The new Fisker Surf will actually be based on the Fisker Karma, featuring a new set of looks and a considerably improved amount of interior and luggage space.
While Fisker will be unveiling the new Surf Concept as a nearly ready to run model, it’s most likely to be little more than a design study meant to probe the public opinion.
A battery pack does steal some of the interior space so the Fisker Surf may be welcomed but if that happens let’s hope that if they decide to make it, it won’t be delayed as much as the Karma.
More details are expected to be announced next week during the official unveiling of the Fisker Surf during the soon to open German motor show.
