The Americans from Ford released official fuel economy figures for the high-performance version of the new Focus, the ST model.
To begin with, the new Focus ST packs a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine capable to deliver 252 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque.
Power arrives at the front wheels via a standard six-speed manual transmission, actually the only one available for this model.
Even so, thanks to the EcoBoost technology, the hatchback returns an EPA-estimated consumption of 23mpg (10,2 liters/100km) in the city and 32mpg (7,3 liters/100km) on highway.
If you do the math, the combined fuel economy of the Ford Focus ST is 26mpg (9.0 liters/100km) which is quite reasonable in this case.
If you are interested in the Focus ST, you have to know that the new hatchback will be priced from $23,700 (excluding a $795 delivery and handling fee) when it goes on sale in the coming months.
