Ford unveiled a special version of the current Transit utility vehicle. We talk about the Transit Custom ECOnetic, a fuel-efficient model will is going to enter the market starting 2013.
Under the bonnet sits a frugal 2.2-liter Duratorq diesel capable to deliver 100 horsepower and a fuel consumption of 6 liters/100km.
The improved numbers are possible thanks to a new set of rolling resistance tires, a start/stop system and new gearbox.
“The ECOnetic version of the all-new Transit Custom, recently named “International Van of the Year 2013”, delivers many low-CO2 features as standard,” says Ford.
The American car maker also provides a new Acceleration Control system which is said to improve the fuel consumption by about 15%. Buyers will be able to order the new Transit Custom ECOnetic in two wheelbase versions and three gross vehicle weight variants.
Pricing information on the new Ford Transit Custom ECOnetic should be released quite soon.
