The GT lineup from AMG is just about to receive a new sibling in the shape of a four-door sedan, the model being recently teased just ahead the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, which opens its gates next week on Tuesday.
The teaser below is a confirmation of a long-rumored four-door GT model – likely to be called the GT4 – which is expected to arrive with advanced aerodynamics, plenty of new styling elements, all contributing to a much more aggressive design.
Amongst the car`s main highlights we should mention rounded rump and sloping rear window, which are rather the same elements as in the GT coupe, adding however a very personal approach such as elongated body to fit four doors, wider fenders for wider alloy wheels, center-exit exhaust system, aggressive rear diffuser, and so on.
The so called Mercedes-AMG GT4 will stand on the company`s new MRA platform (modular rear-wheel drive), also underpinning new models from AMG, which means that will accommodate a massive 4.0-liter bi-turbocharged B8 engine, with a rear wheel-drive and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The engine`s power, torque and performance will be revealed in Geneva.
The Mercedes-AMG GT4 will arrive on the market somewhere towards the end of the year or the beginning of 2018, and will take against the likes of the new Porsche Panamera.
In Geneva, the Mercedes-AMG GT4 will stand alongside other high-end models like the new E63 S Wagon, E-Class Cabriolet, GT C Roadster Edition 50, C63 S Cabriolet Ocean Blue Edition, as well as some new and hot models like the already previewed G650 Landaulet or the Concept X-Class Pickup Truck.
