There are plenty events that put cars head to head, and not just performance wise.
The Pebble Beach is one such event, and there are a few car makers that wait for it just to showcase their new products.
Galpin Auto Sports seized the opportunity and revealed their GTR1 concept car. They say it is “a vision of what the Ford GT may have looked and performed like today,” and the influence the Ford had is clearly visible.
The GTR1 will be a very limited edition, as the manufacturer announces that only 6 to 24 units will be built, and each will fetch a sum in excess of 1 million USD. That is quite a lot even for a Ford GT successor, so what does one get for that money?
The body is made of handcrafted aluminium, sports LED headlights, a carbon fiber front spoiler lip and 20 inch aluminium wheels. Under the hood, they went with a 5.4 liter twin turbo V8 engine capable of delivering 1024 Hp 1000 Nm of torque. The acceleration to 92 km/h is estimated just under 3 seconds, with a top speed of 362 km/h.
