Volkswagen Group has announced the arrival of its new facelifted Golfs on the European market, starting next month.
Another important model within the range is the new 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf, the zero-emission model arriving first in Germany, at an entry-level price of €35,900. Later on, the e-Golf will join the rest of the model lineup in Europe.
Compared to the ongoing model, the new 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf comes with some improvements in terms of powertrain.
We are looking here at a better lithium-ion battery, with an improved capacity from 24.2 kWh to 35.8 kWh, meaning that according to the NEDC`s estimations, the model is now capable of a total of 300 km range. This is only on paper, as on the road, the real estimations place the e-Golf on the 200 km range scale. However, this is still a 50 percent improvement as opposed to the current model.
Also, the power has also been increased, the car`s electric motor now standing at a total of 146 horsepower, after receiving an extra 20 horsepower. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is now done in 9.6 seconds.
As for the car`s interior features, these refer to the same 9.2-inch Discover Pro Infotainment System, with gesture control, adding as well the Active Info Display, the Car-Net`e-Remote` app with different functions – battery charging, most recent parking location, and so on.
