We all know the Fiat 500 is nothing other than a Fiat Panda dressed up as a fashion accessory. It’s in this sort of environment that you know you can’t afford to fall behind.
That’s why, in preparation for the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, Fiat will make the 500 even more fashionable by employing the services of a fashion house you may have head of, Gucci.
The Fiat 500 Gucci may sound exotic and the latest thing but in actual thing, it’s much like fashion itself.
The Gucci version of the Fiat 500 looks pretty but has no actual substance behind the scenes. The engine choice you get for is the already familiar 100 horsepower 1.4 liter four pot.
But since I’m sure fashion enthusiasts couldn’t care less about what makes the car go, let’s have a quick look at how it actually looks.
On this front, Gucci really went to town. The new 16 inch multi-spoke alloy wheels are simply stunning to behold. The three colored stripe on the side isn’t really to my taste and it’s a bit of a shame to see it continue on the safety belts.
There’s also some celebration going into how there’s 150 years gone past since Italy’s unification and 90 years since Gucci came to exist as a fashion icon.
The Fiat 500 by Gucci is going to be sold on a preorder basis between April 1st and June 30th for a price of around €17.000 after being displayed at the Geneva Motor show.
Oh, almost forgot, apparently the Fiat 500 Gucci also comes with its own collection of fashionable products from the fashion house. Therefore you can add several million euros to the price tag of a Fiat 500 as you’ll be buying shoes, gloves and purses.
