You might remember the Mugen CR-Z RR Study revealed by the Japanese company at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year. If you do, we have to tell you that Honda decided to give the green light to the model renaming it CR-Z iCF. Of course, the concept suffered few modifications but it is still good to see prototypes which finally make it to the assembly line.
The Honda CR-Z iCF is developed in partnership with the European division of Mugen and will be exclusively offered in the UK starting next year.
The company says that the new model develops around 175 horsepower and is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6,1 seconds. In order to obtain the additional power, the 1.5-liter engine got a revised ECU unit along a supercharger and a new induction system.
“MUGEN Euro magic has created a super responsive yet eco-conscious model building on our sporting credentials and giving us the ability to compete in the “hot hatch” marketplace as we move into 2012,” says Martin Moll. The Japanese company claimed that the starting price of the new CR-Z iCF will be somewhere around £24,000.
