If Crosstour is not a common word for you, then we should tell you that this is the new name for the Honda Accord Crosstour, a model which gains a new four-cylinder engine for the 2012 model year. To be more precise, the new 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit will fit the entry-level model which goes on sale next month in the United States.
The new Honda Crosstour with the 2.4-liter i-VTEC unit delivers 192 horsepower and 162 lb-ft. of torque at approximately 4,400 rpm. Good to know is that this engine will be available exclusively with the front-wheel drive system and a standard five-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of fuel consumption, the four-cylinder unit returns decent figures of 21 mpg (city) and 29 mpg (highway). According to Honda, two trim levels will be available for the new four-cylinder unit starting with the EX package which brings air conditioning, 360-watt audio system with seven speakers, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with 225/65 R17 tires but also a panoramic roof.
Of course, there is the EX-L package which includes heated front seats, a leather steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control and other goodies.
