The Korean people from Hyundai unveiled the new Eon five-door hatchback on Thursday in India, the main market where the new city car will be available. The new Hyundai Eon is 3,5 meters long, 1,55 meters wide and has a height of 1,5 meters. These dimensions along with the wheelbase of 2,3 meters make the model the smallest vehicle in the range, even smaller than the better-known i10.
In terms of power, Hyundai will offer only a 0.8-liter petrol unit offering 56 horsepower and 74 Nm of torque. The three-cylinder engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and returns a combined fuel consumption of 4,7 liters/km (49,7mpg US).
The interior and exterior design follows the company’s “Fluidic Sculpture” philosophy and has been designed at the Namyang R&D center in South Korea. The new Hyundai Eon will be produced in around 150,000 units per year for the Indian market while the starting price is set at around $5,515 (269,999 rupees).
However, if you choose the sixth trim level which provides a richer list of features, the total price will raise up to $7,595 (371,869 rupees).
