After a series of teasers, the South Korean manufacturer unveiled the new Veloster, Coupe’s replacement, a model which aims to come with an affordable price of about $20,000. The new Hyundai Veloster adopts an aggressive design with sharp lines, elongated front optical blocks, 17 and 18-inch alloy wheels and a little rear aileron.
A glass roof is also available while in the front we find Hyunday’s grille and fog lamps. Under the hood we find a shy 1.6-liter propeller able to develop 138 horses and 167 Nm of torque, an engine which promises to provide a fuel consumption of about 6 liters/100 km in certain conditions.
Together with the petrol engine, the South Korean manufacturer offers the new double-clutch DCT six-speed transmission but also a standard manual gearbox. The model measures 4,22m in lenght and 1,79 wide while the total mass of the new Hyundai Veloster it’s just 1172 kilograms. The new model from Hyundai is expected to be available later this year.
