The Barcelona Auto Show is ready to debut on May 12th and the South Koreans from Hyundai decided to reveal a rendering starring the new i40 sedan, a model designed in Germany and with some clear goals, namely to battle on the European market with the mid-segment sedans.
If the wagon version of the model is already available, the new i40 sedan it’s scheduled to enter the market by the end of this year, all the important details following to be released next week at the Spanish automotive event.
In terms of size, an important fact when talking about sedans, thus, about family models, we can’t tell you too much as the South Koreans released no key features but according to the first details, the model will benefit from a wheelbase of 2,77 meters. Switching to the performance figures, the new Hyundai i40 sedan is rumored to get as the top of the range a 2.0-liter engine developing 174 horsepower while the entry-level engine will be a 1.7-liter unit producing 113 horses.
An additional 134-horsepower variant of the same 1.7-liter should be available at the debut. The only way to get the confirmation of these rumors it’s to wait until the next week.
