Hyundai will be participating in the 2014 Rally Monte Carlo with their i20 WRC vehicle.
And with eight months to go, they have already started testing the car to see how it will fare.
From the reports Hyundai offered, it seems that so far, the i20 managed to sum up some 550 km of test driving between the drivers. Following this testing bout, Hyundai’s engineers will be hard at work to analyze the data collected and, if the case may be, provide solutions to problems.
A special attention will be given to the power house under the hood, a 1.6 liter engine. As Michel Nandan states, the information gathered from these preliminary tests are “quite positive”. These results are welcome, as the tight schedule might not allow for much tinkering.
With more tests along the way, Hyundai has a lot of work to prep the i20 WRC for the 2014 Rally Monte Carlo, and while the start was good, you never know what could go wrong.
