The sequel for the action movie Iron Man which has recently hit the cinemas and started making quite a lot of money.
While the second-installment in the Iron Man series raked in a whopping $7.5 million in America for the opening night it still has quite a lot of bills to pay for. Probably one of the most interesting costs of making the movie features a bill for a couple of totaled Rolls Royce Phantoms.
One of the most famous scenes in the movie is responsible for the death of one of those amazing luxury cars. I’m talking about the scene in which Stark is attacked by Ivan Vanko while racing in Monaco. During the scene Vanko ends up destroying the Roller driven by Jon Favreau, director of the movie.
The truth about it is that the scene didn’t quite work out the first time so a second victim had to fall to Iron Man’s… director’s wrath.
John Armstrong, the man who worked on the film’s stunts and special effects stated that both cars were built specifically for the movie by the British company and the two cars were identical. This seems quite interesting as the Phantom is handbuilt and making a couple of identical cars is quite a rare fit.
Here’s a bit of footage on the matter from the movie:
