There’s been quite some time since the NHTSA announced any sorts of recalls on new or older cars and we’re unsure about whether this is good or bad.

Should we be glad that car makers are coming up with safer better built cars or should we worry that the American authority is slacking off?

Unfortunately for Jeep, the NHTSA has proof of the work they put in as they’ve just announced a new investigation into the Patriot model.

Fiat’s involvement with reliability in our time cannot be denied but even they consider there’s plenty of mistakes out there to be made.

Their relatives at Chrysler have a bit of worrying to do since their Jeep Patriot is the one which is about to get checked in what’s quite a bit of products.

Technically, some 112.000 units are being looked into and they both span between 2011-2012 model years and the concern is quite the typical one.

Allegedly some owners have started writing in to the NHTSA to complain about the way their cars tend to stall sometimes.

This problem only occurs at speeds about 65 mph, something that would easily be declared as highway speeds. That’s not the sort of place where you want to be in the middle of the road.

Especially as the report speaks of losing the ability to re-start the car. There’s even an accident with two injuries that’s quoted as to blame for this situation.

The investigation is currently ongoing but if they find a few more similar examples, it may be time for Jeep to get ready for a recall.
