Following the debut of Chrysler 300 SRT8, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 met the American audience at the New York Auto Show which is currently ongoing. The SRT8 appellation already tells you that you face a very powerful model, moreover, the Americans claim that this is the fastest model bearing the Jeep badge.
Exactly as the previously mentioned Chrysler 300 SRT8, the new model in Jeep’s range benefits from a HEMI V8 unit able to deliver impressing performance. More exactly, the 6.4-liter V8 offers a total output of 475 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque which makes the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h possible in just 4,8 seconds. The top speed available is electronically limited at 250 km/h.
Alongside the HEMI engine, Jeep offers an automatic transmission and also the all-wheel drive system, as you’d expect. The Selec-Track system is another feature of the new Grand Cherokee SRT8, a system which manages the adaptive damping suspension.
In terms of appearance, the Americans fitted a set of 20-inch aluminum wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, more aggressive headlights, LED lights integrated in the front bumper and a dual-pipe exhaust system.
