This year the bull from Italy reached its 50th anniversary. Half a century of mad cars that haunted many boys’ dreams deserves to be celebrated in style.
So Lamborghini decided the best way to do that is to release a special version of the Aventador, the LP720-4 50 Anniversario Edition. And now we have pictures of the yellow beast.
Set to be released at the Shanghai Auto Show, this anniversary version will only see 100 units leave the assembly line. No prices are known for now, but we know what Lamborghini offers in this Aventador LP720-4 50 Anniversario Edition.
Under the hood, the 6.5 liter V12 engine has undergone some changes, bringing the horsepower up to 720. This makes it possible to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. Speculations about the top speed place the numbers above the 350 km/h mark.
The design has also seen some altering. Besides the Giallo Maggio (Yellow May) paint job, the Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50 Anniversario Edition also displays a front splitter and huge rear diffuser, both part of a black aero kit. So I wish Lamborghini many more years of activity as 50 aren’t enough.
