The Italian based Lamborghini carmaker is preparing for a special event next year, which is the celebration of 100 years since Ferrucio Lamborghini`s birth.
For this special occasion, Stephan Winkelman, the CEO at Lamborghini, confirmed the arrival of a special model, called the Centenario, which will be officially unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
“We will unveil a car in Geneva. In terms of renderings, it is known to the customers already. It is a car which is covering the best balance between tradition and innovation. You are familiar with our one-offs – it will be something like this, a coupe bodystyle. And it will initiate the celebration of the 100 years. So, we’re surely being treated to a unique Lamborghini different from the current range – the Huracan and Aventador. We’re rooting for the great sounding Centenario moniker, though this one hasn’t been confirmed as of yet.” Winkelman also stated in a press release.
As expected, the Lamborghini Centenario will be built in a limited edition of just 20 units, each one packing a 6.5-liter V12 engine under the hood, with around 760 horsepower, making it more powerful than the Aventador Veloce. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h might be done in just 2.5 seconds. Full specs will be revealed next year at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Meanwhile, stay tuned with the latest auto news!
