In case you haven’t heard the good news, then you should read this article, as the Italian-based carmaker Lamborghini has decided to go kinda cheap with the introduction of new entry-level versions, including the Huracan LP 580-2 Spyder, displayed in the media gallery below.
In case you don’t want to opt for a much more expensive AWD Huracan LP 610-4 Coupe or the Spyder version, then the LP 580-2 Spyder with a rear-wheel drive setup and a soft-top is definitely the one for you.
Speaking about the car`s new wheel setup and not that interesting drop-top, Stefani Domenicali, CEO at Lamborghini, has tried to describe the model as straightforward as he could:
“It offers the lifestyle appeal of open-air motoring with the pure thrill of rear-wheel drive engineering. This is a Lamborghini for those with a passion for life and the purest driving experience on the open road. It’s also a Huracan for those entering the Lamborghini family, wanting a true Spyder experience without compromising on the performance and dynamic handling of a rear-wheel drive car.”
Speaking about the roof, the car uses an electronically-controlled system which opens or closes the soft-top, all achieved at speeds up to 50 km/h. The turbulences while driving are reduced thanks to a custom-built duct placed near the headroom.
As for the power under the hood, the Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 Spyder is using a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine, with 426 kW and 540 Nm of torque, enough to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds, at a topping of 321 km/h. And you say Lambo that this is an entry-level version?!? I surely doubt it!
