Limited-edition Ferrari F12tdf officially unveiled

View

The Italians at Ferrari pulled the wraps off the special F12tdf (Tour de France), a limited-run model that got a lot of improvements compared to the F12 Berlinetta.

To begin with, the 6.3-liter V12 engine is now capable to produce 780 horsepower and 705 Nm of torque, enough for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 2,9 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h.

Even though the Ferrari F12tdf has only 40 extra horses, it manages to get the sprint time under 3 seconds. This is achieved also thanks to a high-performance F1 DCT gearbox which promises improved shift times.

New rear diffuser and spoiler improve the downforce of the new model while the trunk also got reshaped. Ferrari says that at 200 km/h, the new model is able to generate over 230 kg of downforce. Another improvement was brough to the rear axle steering as a new module is now capable to control the rear wheels depending on various variables.

The Virtual Short Wheelbase is also helping the wheels to pivot around a vertical axis. All these technical achievements make the Ferrari F12tdf a real masterpiece on the road. However, this will come with a premium price tag as well as a limitation. The Italian carmaker will produce only 799 units, so this model isn’t for everybody.
