There are a lot of different reason to recall a vehicle, some more serious than the other. While it is easy to understand why you would recall a car over brake failure, some other issues need a little explaining.
This is the case with 28 Lotus Evoras, which are being recalled because a certain sticker is missing.
Such a reason is not usually grounds for a recall, so why did Lotus deem it necessary? Well, said sticker marks certain Evora units built between September and November 2012 which were granted a certain exemption from advanced airbag requirements on the passenger side.
These units might be subject to a future recall action, and the sticker is a mark just so owners know which vehicles will possibly be affected. So basically, this recall will mark a future possible recall. And while this small action might seem a bit on the silly side, airbag issues are not a laughing matter, and it is good to know if you will have to get it checked out at a later date.
