It is not very often we get to see a customized fresh new Mazda MX-5 model, especially because the car`s body styling doesn’t really allow for some serious modifications, but under the hood, there is a complete new story.
Few have tried to add power upgrades to the iconic MX-5, but it seems that the technicians from BBR tuner have managed to create a real monster out of it.
The British engineers have installed their special Super 200 power kit, out of which you get 205 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque, but in case you want the best out of it, then you can have it with a whole 214 horsepower and 183 lb-ft of torque.
All these are possible thanks to the plethora of mechanic upgrades that the technicians have had to add. We are looking here at high-performance replacement billet steel intake, exhaust camshafts with custom valve springs and retainers.
Other mods refer to custom 4 into 1 stainless steel exhaust manifold, adding bespoke cold air intake system, StarChin ECU software package with new ignition, fuel and cam timing calibration.
But don’t walk away, as the tuner also offers some extra modifications on the car`s chassis, meaning BBR / Eibach anti-roll bar kit, Koni adjustable dampers and BBR lowering spring, performance pads as well as WIlwood brake upgrade with lightweight calipers.
Now that we`ve caught your attention, you should know that the entire installation and the Super 200 power kit, with all the upgrading parts, cost around £2795, which is not expensive at all. The finished product can be seen in the photo gallery below.
