The 2012 model year Honda Insight Hybrid has been revealed at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show but it will reach the U.S. dealerships in the following weeks. In this situation, the Japanese company revealed the specification sheet of the revised model for the American market. At the exterior, the 2012 Insight Hybrid benefits from revised front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels, a reworked front grille but also redesigned underbody panels able to improve the aerodynamic coefficient by 2%.
Entering the cabin you will find higher quality materials used for the seats, revised beverage holders along with more head and leg room. The list of standard features is upgraded with the introduction of steering wheel audio controls, automatic headlights, Bluetooth connectivity and new leather shift knob and steering wheel for the EX trim.
In terms of power, the Insight Hybrid benefits from the IMA system with a 1.3-liter i-VTEC petrol engine and a 10 kW electric motor for a total output of 98 horsepower. The hybrid powertrain is coupled to a CVT transmission returning an average fuel economy of 41mpg US.
However, the Japanese company had to increase the starting price by $150 to a total of $19,120 which includes the destination fee.
