The AMG hardcore division from Mercedes-Benz has recently unveiled its latest high-end model, which is the new and extremely powerful AMG GT R, good news for all petrol heads that love this extraordinary sports car.
However, following a recent spy video with the model still wearing camouflage, there are rumors and reports according to which the Mercedes-AMG GT R will be offered in just a limited edition of 2,000 units, each one coming with an extremely spicy price.
The rumor mill is confirmed by a recent report issued by Autocar, which claims that the model would be limited and extremely expensive. So, prepare your checks and get ready to make your deposit, even if there is no word on how much it will cost.
Apart the limited run, the carmaker is also planning to bring some hefty modifications in terms of visuals and mechanicals, and that because it is supposed to be a road-focused sports car, with worthy performance of a real racer.
The street version f the AMG GT3 is set to come with an extremely aggressive design, consisting of an AMG Panamericana-like grille, the rare Grille magno hue, adding custom front splitter and carbon fiber composites for improved aerodynamic capabilities.
Performance wise, the Mercedes-AMG GT R is equipped with a massive 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine, with impressive 585 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, enough to deliver a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds.
