Rumors with an AMG GT-R are not new but the model was confirmed just now, as it was spotted at the Nurburgring undergoing some rough tests.
The spy video with the Mercedes-AMG GT-R around the track is showcasing the camouflaged test mule going through some extensive testing, as it is preparing for an official debut somewhere at the end of the year.
As we can depict from the video, we are dealing here with an extremely aggressive design, fitted for a hardcore AMG, along with an upgraded suspension package, massive breaks as well as high-performance wheels.
Under the hood, the Mercedes-AMG GT-R will make use of the same 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine also found on the regular AMG GT and other AMG models. The output would stand around 400 kW, which is way impressive than the GT`s 350 kW and 375 kW, respectively.
More than that, the Mercedes-AMG GT-R is also reported to be faster than the SLS AMG Black Series on the track, meaning that it will be fully tweaked with a lot of high-performance and track-focused mechanical bits.
The information list is rather scarce at the moment, but until further details, we`d better watch the spy video with the upcoming Mercedes-AMG GT-R at the Nurburgring!
