The new Mercedes B-Class is going to benefit from a Natural Gas Drive version which runs on natural gas.
The new Mercedes B 200 Natural Gas Drive is able to deliver 156 horsepower for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 9,1 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h. The German company says that, thanks to a fuel consumption of only 4,2 liters/100km, the B 200 can run up to 500 kilometers on a single fuel tank.
The model in question comes with CO2 emissions of 115 g/km and can be ordered with a standard manual gearbox or a more advanced 7G-DCT dual-clutch transmission.
Mercedes claims that the natural gas-powered model is 50% cheaper than the petrol variant with an improvement of 16% in terms of emissions.
“Visually, the B 200 Natural Gas Drive also differs from other B-Class models in terms of a few details. Its main characteristics include the distinctive front bumper with strip-form LED daytime driving lights,” says the company.
No pricing figures are available at the moment, but expect to see the new B 200 Natural Gas Drive in showrooms starting next year.
