Mercedes officially announced that the new B-Class Electric Drive just entered production at the company’s plant in Rastatt. The eco-friendly model is powered by an electric motor producing 177 horsepower and 338 Nm of torque.
As you know, these electric motors provide quite impressive torque figures which help the 0-100 km/h sprint.

To be more specific, the model needs only 7,9 seconds to hit that mark with a top speed of 161 km/h. According to the carmaker, the Mercedes B-Class Electric Drive offers a driving range of 200 kilometers thanks to the Tesla Motors-sourced battery pack.
If you are looking forward for the all-electric version of the B-Class, you have to know that deliveries will starts firstly in the U.S. somewhere this fall.

European markets will get the model later this year, towards the end. In terms of styling, the B-Class Electric Drive is identical to the normal model.
