Mercedes-Benz will be adding a new powertrain for the S63 AMG model in the form of the AMG 5.5-litre biturbo V8 engine. It will produce 571 hp and up to 900 Nm of torque. It will also benefit of the sport 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT gearbox.
These additions will have the result of increasing the power while decreasing the fuel consmption at the same time, which is a very good feat. That way, the Mercedes S63 AMG will have a consumption of 10.5 litres per hundred kilometers, which is more than 25% more efficient than the previous model. Ola Källenius, the head of Mercedes, thinks that the company is headed toward a new era thanks to these feats.
The Mercedes S63 AMG has an incredible performance for a saloon car which can be compared to that if a sports model: 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds, top speed of 155mph. These stats can be further boosted with the AMG Performance Package which costs 9400 euros.
The S63 AMG will be launched in September at the price of 151,000 euros for the long wheelbase version.
