Mercedes Biome concept competing at the Los Angeles Design Challenge

Mercedes will reveal within the Los Angeles Auto Show an innovative concept which will compete at the Los Angeles Design Challenge. The Biome concept was designed in Carlsbad by Hubert Lee and aims to win the Los Angeles Design Challenge, a contest which searches for a model with a mass less than 1000lb, which is about 454 kilograms.

Even Mercedes Biome concept has a lenght of about 4 meters and is 2,5 meters wide, the German concept designed in California is still able to provide a total mass of just 394 kilograms, thus, it fits the requirements of the contest in question.

Two other models will compete at the same design competition: a model designed in Germany, the Smart 454 Weight Watch Technology but also the Mayback eRikscha, which took shape at the Japanese design center. Mercedes also decided to reveal the Biome concept ahead of Los Angeles in depth by publishing a pretty wide photo gallery.
