Carlsson released photos and details for the new CK63 RS, a model based on the current Mercedes CLS 63 AMG which was also displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new tuning package brings some styling improvements but also provides a significant power upgrade to the model which already received the AMG treatment.
The aesthetic tweaks include an aerodynamic kit which brings a new spoiler with carbon fiber lip, a rear diffuser along rear boot-lid spoiler and a revised front grille with black finish. The Germans also provide a new set of 20-inch alloy wheels while inside the customers will benefit from illuminated door sill panels, brushed aluminum trim, Nappa leather and special floor mats.
“Carlsson incorporates coupé-style contours and lends the vehicle’s exterior a touch of sophistication with the comprehensive aerodynamic package,” explains Carlsson.
Under the bonnet, the V8 bi-turbo unit gets few modifications in order to develop 649 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque over the standard output of 557 horses.
The additional power enables the CK63 RS to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,1 seconds. A new, high-performance adjustable suspension is available as well, the new module being able to reduce the ground clearance by 30 mm.
