After several spy photos and rumored information, Mercedes officially unveiled the new GLA concept, a crossover prototype which will be seen in world premiere at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show.
The German model is 4,3 meters long and 1,9 meters wide, riding a wheelbase of 2,7 meters. Under the hood we find a 2.0-liter gasoline unit producing 211 horsepower and linked to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
In terms of design, the model uses a quite futuristic approach with new optical blocks, large front grille, massive 20-inch alloy wheels with 255/45 R20 tires, roof rails and a dual-pipe exhaust system.
Inside, it benefits from leather upholstery, new seats, revised center console and instrument cluster but also new trim.
The production model based on the Mercedes GLA Concept is confirmed for a debut later this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show, in September.
