Switching to the new engines in range, the E 500 BlueEFFICIENCY version gets a new 4.6-liter unit able to deliver 402 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. This means that you get 20 horses and 70 Nm of torque in addition while the fuel consumption decreases by 17% to 8,9 liters/100 km. The new propeller kicks the German model from 0 to 100 km/h in 5,2 seconds and delivers CO2 emissions figures of 209 g/km.

This version is not that fast as the E 500 managing to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6,3 seconds. However, this should result in a better fuel consumption, and this is exactly what it does as the new propeller consumes 7 liters/100 km and issues 164 g/km CO2.
