Mercedes released details on a new entry-level model for the US market. The Mercedes SL400 starts from $84,925 and comes with a 3.0-liter V6 engine producing 329 horsepower and 479 Nm of torque.
Linked to a seven-speed automatic transmission, the 0-100 km/h sprint is possible in 5,1 seconds. Even though it is the cheaper version now in the States, the performance is still very good.
Fuel economy figures are rated at 20 mpg city / 27 mpg highway (US). The convertible model is fitted with a panoramic glass roof, burl walnut or black ash trim, heated leather seats and GPS navigation.
Last but not least, Mercedes offers a premium harman/kardon system so you can enjoy some high quality audio while driving.
With a starting price of under $85,000, the Mercedes SL400 might appeal to many customers who were not willing to pay over $100K for the German sports car.
