Minitune decided to prepare a quite comprehensive package for the Cooper S. The kit includes both styling and performance tweaks, the latter being offered for the 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine.
Thanks to a revised ECU, a stainless steel sports exhaust system and a high-performance intercooler, the turbocharged engine gets a boost of 44 horses and 79 Nm of torque.
This means a total output of 218 horsepower and 319 Nm of torque. The 0-100 km/h sprint time should be also better but Minitune released no official details in this regard.
“In contrast to the abundant regular chrome on the MINI as a proven retro-character in standard production, Minitune consistently lacquered every reflective surface in glittering black, to give it its unmistakable more sporty appearance,” says the company.
At the exterior, buyers will get 18-inch Motec Nitro alloy wheels with Kumho tires, revised front and rear bumpers, a faux rear diffuser and side skirts. The tailgate-mounted spoiler completes the list of exterior tweaks.
