The British folks at MINI released photos and details on the John Cooper Works concept, a prototype which will be seen in world premiere at the 2014 NAIAS.
The new model is meant to preview the upcoming production variant of the JCW, a high-performance hatchback which should go on sale in 2014.
At the exterior, the British car sports a special Bright Highways Grey finish with red accents, new front and rear bumpers, a revised front grille and 18-inch alloy wheels.
When the series version will break cover, we expect to see a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood. The turbocharged unit is rumored to deliver around 220 horsepower.
Of course, the production model of the MINI John Cooper Works won’t keep all the futuristic exterior parts such as the large air intakes and the aggressive spoilers but it will clearly resemble in a quite good measure.
